The Wesleyan 2008-2009 Jazz Ensemble is headed by Noah Baerman and consists of myself, Galen DeGraf on drums, Gabe Gordon on piano, Zachary Rosen on bass, and Matthew Bernstein on guitar. Joanne Brackeen's work is immensely challenging, yet for all it's weirdness I still find myself humming it to myself sometimes when I'm in a certain mood. Gabe Gordon's piano work is stellar here: give it a listen. Voyage Download here! A Classic Kenny Barron tune, and some fine drumwork by Galen. Black Narcissus Download here! The bass solo in this fine Joe Henderson piece is all Zachary Rosen. This piece really shows off a bass player's versatility hitting all those high notes in tune. Dolores Street, San Francisco Download here! Featuring Matthew Bernstein on guitar, this tune is one of my all-time favorites.
